The first time I read The Alchemist I was 14. Once having trained my mind to reverse characters' genders, I fully agreed with the plot and its lessons [yeah, I hopped unto the feminist bandwagon fairly early].

The second time I read the book was last week, and my heart sank at what I came to realise.

My god, I need to get back on track - at least we put our finger on it sooner rather than later.
